The Truth About Climate Change By James Covington
Introduction
In this presentation I will use my knowledge of meteorology, climatology, physics, and geology, in addition to studying the results of research
from various reputable sources. Here, I will put it all together, "connect the dots" if it were, to dispell the myths that surround
the climate change debate. I will make every effort to support my opinions with facts, and I will clearly state what is fact and what
is opinion. For the record, some of my opinions are guided by one of my best friends, Dr. Don Sell, who has a PhD in Meteorology. |

Summary
First, let me say that by its original definition, "Global Warming" is impossible. I will state the facts that support this statement
later on in the presentation, but it would suffice to say that carbon dioxide is not capable of warming the planet to the degree that has been
publicized. The only common gas that humans work with regularly that could cause this kind of warming would be methane, but we don't release
methane into the atmosphere, we burn it as natural gas. Methane is a hundred times more powerful as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, that's
a proven fact. Carbon dioxide is actually a weak greenhouse gas, and particle physics suggests it may actually obsorb as much heat as it
reflects back to the surface, releasing that obsorbed heat back into space at night.
You might be thinking about how our domesticated animals produce quite a bit of methane and that could enhance "global warming", however
I consider this to be a non-issue. Why? Because you have to look at how many species of animals were once far more numerous than today. Think
about it.... there used to be millions upon millions of buffalo roaming the plains of the US, which are now all but gone. There used to be
millions of bears, deer, moose, elk, and many other animals across North America that have all been vastly reduced in numbers. The same is true
across much of the globe. Wherever man has made significant changes to the land, woodland creatures have been reduced in numbers. So,
all the domesticated animals such as cattle, chickens, and hogs, would not be that much higher in methane output than all the creatures that used
to roam these same lands. So again I say, I consider this irrelevant to climate change. Add to this, the fact that some entrepenours are looking
at ways of collecting much of this methane output and using it as natural gas, and this makes human-caused methane output a moot point.
In addition to discussing the molecular properties of carbon dioxide and its role as a greenhouse gas, I will also discuss evidence of
past climate from ice cores collected in Antarctica, Greenland, and northern Siberia, which clearly show two things. The first being that the
current warming is part of a roughly 126,000 year cycle, and the second being that carbon dioxide levels do not cause climate change, but are in
fact a result of warming of the global climate.
Why would so many media outlets carry a false message to the world? My theory is that its an elaborate scheme to move the world away from
a dependance on fossil fuels, and get the taxpayers of the world to pick up the tab. Evidence like what I will show on these pages has been
available for quite some time, published in numerous studies from various sources, but you don't hear this evidence on the news.
Why am I writing this now? Well, I've kept quiet about the climate change debate thus far, as the end result of "going green" will be a cleaner
environment, and that's a good thing. However, the US government is now considering legislation like "Cap and Trade" which will force a
substantial rise in energy costs during a recession... total madness! Given the fact that this will now start to affect everyone financially,
like it or not, its time for me and those who agree with me (millions of us out there) to speak out!
Finally, I will discuss that Earth's climate is far more likely to enter a new ice age, than to continue warming.
